David Place (t/a Lesplace) ("we", "us", "our") built Cruise Report as a locally-run macOS application. Your privacy is important to us, and this policy explains how the app handles information.
1. Data Collection
Cruise Report does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All project data — including tracks, photos, stops, and reports — is stored exclusively on your Mac in a local Core Data database and your app document folder.
2. Analytics & Tracking
We do not use any analytics frameworks, advertising identifiers, or third-party tracking services.
3. Network Access
The app requires network access solely for:
- Verifying your subscription status with the Apple App Store.
- Connecting to a local Signal K server on your network, if you choose to use that feature.
No data is sent to David Place (t/a Lesplace) or any third party.
4. Photos & Location Data
When you import photos, the app reads GPS metadata embedded in those photos to place them on the map. This data never leaves your device.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details.
6. Data Retention
Since all data is stored locally, you have full control. Deleting the app or its data files removes all information permanently.
7. Children's Privacy
Cruise Report is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the app with an updated effective date.
